ರಥ ಸಪ್ತಮಿ ಹಬ್ಬವನ್ನು ಮಾಘ ಮಾಸದ ಶುಕ್ಲ ಪಕ್ಷದ ಸಪ್ತಮೀ ದಿನ ಆಚರಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಇದು ಸೂರ್ಯ ದೇವನ ಹಬ್ಬ. ಸೂರ್ಯನು ಸಿಂಹ ರಾಶಿ ಇಂದ ಮಕರ ರಾಶಿಗೆ ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ, ತನ್ನ ಏಳು ಕುದುರೆಗಳ ರಥ ಏರಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಈ ದಿನಅರುಣೋದಯದ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡಿ , ಸೂರ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಪೂಜೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ.ಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡುವಾಗ ಎಕ್ಕದ ಗಿಡದ 7ಎಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೆತ್ತಿ/ತಲೆ, ಭುಜ, ತೊಡೆ ಮೇಲೆ ಇಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಸ್ನಾನ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಎಕ್ಕದ ಗಿಡ ಹೇಗಿರುತ್ತೆ ಅಂತಗೊತ್ತಿಲ್ಲದವರಿಗೆ, ಕೆಳಗೆ ಎಕ್ಕದ ಗಿಡದ ಚಿತ್ರ ಇದೆ.

ಸ್ನಾನದ ನಂತರ ಸೂರ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಅಷ್ಟೋತ್ತರ, ನೈವೇದ್ಯದಿಂದ ಪೂಜೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಪೂಜಾ ವಿಧಾನ ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಸೂರ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಿಯವಾದ ಗೋಧಿ/ರವೆ ಪಾಯಸದ ನೈವೇದ್ಯ. ಈ ದಿನ ಪೂಜೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಸೂರ್ಯನಿಗೆ ನಮಸ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡಿದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಲ್ಲ ಪಾಪಗಳೂ ಪರಿಹಾರವಾಗುತ್ತವೆ ಎಂಬ ನಂಬಿಕೆ.
ರಥ ಸಪ್ತಮಿ ಬಹಳ ಶುಭಕರವಾದ ದಿನ. ಹೀಗಾಗಿ ಈ ದಿನ ಮದುವೆ, ಮುಂಜಿ, ಗುದ್ದಲಿ ಪೂಜೆ, ಗೃಹಪ್ರವೇಶ, ನಾಮಕರಣ ಮುಂತಾದ ಮಂಗಳ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಸೂರ್ಯನು ರಥವನ್ನೇರಿ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೋದಂತೆ ನಮ್ಮ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಬಾಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಾವೂ ಯಶಸ್ಸು ಪಡೆಯುತ್ತೀವಿ ಎಂಬ ನಂಬಿಕೆ.ಸೂರ್ಯ ದೇವರ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಗಳು ಇಲ್ಲಿದೆ:

Pl check and correct, if needed. On Sankranthi day itself Soorya has moved from Dhanassu to Makara raashi and turned to start movement towards north. ReplyDeleteYou have asked an interesting question. When I was writing this post, I referred to a book I had about festivals and wrote it. Since I am not an astrologer, I have no background to clarify your question. May be different panchangas(chandramana, souramana) make different assumptions about the movement of sun. This is just my personal opinion. These panchanga systems are written way back in time before any scientific discoveries were made. The makara sankramana we celebrate on January 14 actually falls on Decemeber 22 according to movement of sun, so scientifically speaking this panchanga date is wrong for the current time. But since we follow our traditional panchanga, so we just stick to the dates panchanga mentions.
